Redcap Description
Redcaps are short, wiry humanoids with lean, sinewy builds. They are built for speed, agility, and ruthless efficiency. Their bodies are compact and muscular, and they have long, dexterous fingers that make them adept at wielding weapons or climbing treacherous terrain.
Their skin tones vary from deep, ruddy hues to ashen grays, often rough and scarred from years of conflict. Some Redcaps have faint, vein-like markings along their arms and necks that darken when agitated. Their eyes glow with a faint, eerie red or ember-like glow, especially in dim light.
Their most recognizable feature is their bloodstained headwear—a holdover from their past when they soaked their caps in the blood of their victims. While modern Redcaps in Enclave Sentius have abandoned this ritual, many still wear red-dyed bandanas, hoods, or cloth wraps to nod to tradition.
Their facial features are sharp and angular, with high cheekbones, sunken cheeks, and hooked noses that give them a predatory look. Their teeth are sharp and irregular, sometimes slightly jagged due to a mix of natural structure and wear. Some Redcaps file them down, while others keep them as a silent intimidation tactic.
Their feet and hands are slightly elongated, giving them an unnatural swiftness and grip. This allows them to climb walls, traverse rough terrain, and move with unsettling speed. While not true claws, their nails grow thicker and sharper than human claws. They often look chipped or darkened from years of use.
Though they no longer act as bloodthirsty marauders, Redcaps still carry an air of menace. They move with a measured, deliberate stride—never rushed, never hesitant, constantly aware of their surroundings.
